The Sexual Politics of Meat

Carol Adams in conversation with Sara Pascoe

Thursday 8th September

Join us as we welcome Carol Adams in celebration of the 25th anniversary of her groundbreaking work of vegetarian-feminist critical theory, The Sexual Politics of Meat. Hailed by The New York Times as “a bible of the vegan community,” the book triggered dramatic international media coverage and has been translated into nine languages since its original publication in 1990.

The Sexual Politics of Meat is an inspiring and controversial exploration of the interplay between contemporary society's ingrained cultural misogyny and its obsession with meat and masculinity. By exploring a relationship between patriarchal values and meat-eating this conversation will bring together ideas from feminism, vegetarianism, animal defence, and literary theory.

Carol will be interviewed by writer and comedian Sara Pascoe. Join us for drinks, an engaging conversation and Q&A session with Carol and Sara, and an opportunity to buy this compelling book at an exclusive discount.
